Season Changing Smoothie
We are now in full ‘autumnal vibe’ swing, with the nights drawing in and the temperature dropping.
This sometimes puts us in a bit of a food slump, our body craves warmth and comfort as we approach those colder days. Those nutritional salads and fresh fruit may just not ‘hit the spot’ for me personally I start swaying towards warmer foods. Soups and hot meals can be a great way of incorporating a wide range of vegetables but making the switch from summer salads can be disastrous and result in a dramatic increase in unnecessary calories. For me personally, I’m talking about my love for roast potatoes!
This change of season doesn’t have to be detrimental to your diet at all, it also doesn’t automatically mean you have to ditch the fresh cold options. So, it got me thinking about how to maintain that nutritional balance and enjoy the essence of fresh with an autumnal twist.
Why not try this punchy smoothie? Not only does it hit to spot, but it’s packed full of nutritional benefits. It is high in carbohydrate and healthy fats. It also contains vitamin C, which helps protect cells in the body, vitamin E which maintain healthy skin and eyes, and calcium which helps build bones and teeth.
This smoothie could make a great breakfast option.
